Good experience with first purchase for (mainly) office supplies
A first time order for me from Staples - some gloves.
As part of a promotional activity, i received free delivery with my order
Creating an account was quick and painless and placing the order was equally painless. Paying was also easy, although they do not (currently) accept PayPal.
My order was confirmed the same day.
Oddly and unexpectedly, my order arrived 3 days later (during a weekend). I wasnt expecting it, as i had never received a dispatch confirmation email and my package was left outside my door (even though i was home). Perhaps for some, this is something to be aware of (and may also be driver/deliverer dependent)
So i guess, in terms of delivery times, excellent! but for communication, not so good.
One other thing to note, Staples charged my credit card an extra $1, i'm not sure if this was for verification purposes, but i'll keep an eye on it
Nevertheless, overall a pretty good experience, and i would be happy to see what else that may be available
I ordered from staples.com.au specifically because of the next day delivery advertised on the site, I was careful to place the order before the 3:00pm deadline and had my mum stay home the next day to receive the order.
- My order did not arrive on the expected day, there was no call or explanation as to why this was, my mother waited at home the entire day without even a courtesy call to explain. - Alternative delivery was organised but now the delivery company broke one box so delayed delivery further - The delivery was finally received - but without the replacement item the delivery had supposedly been delayed for - The missing item was reordered by the helpful customer service staff and I was told to expect it Tuesday, it is now Thursday and I have had no delivery and no explanation.
The customer service staff I spoke to were very helpful but the entire experience otherwise has been extremely disappointing. I would not order from here again.
I use staples to order the work supplies. They have everything you could possible need. Shipping is very fast. In some occasions you may receive it the next day.
One thing I don't like about the staples website, is that it doesn't show you prices of the items unless you create a username and log in.
I've spoken to the call centre a couple of times, and they have been very helpful.
Overall, a good company to purchase stationary from as they provide a varied amount of different brands and products.
Staples offer very competitive products and discounts, making them useful when purchasing multiple items. Make sure to use the coupons they have on offer when available.
Shipping is fast, but make note that they don't ship to QLD. They can go over the top with packaging boxes though. When placing orders for relatively small items, they still seem to use only a standard size box, meaning packaging can be quite excessive. I bought a Verbatim 3.5" USB 3.0 External Hard Drive, Reflex Ultra White Copy Paper, a tin of 450g Nestle Milo and a black permanent Sharpie marker, and the packaging was more than required for the tin and sharpie. The order itself took 3 business days from the point of ordering up to delivery.
Make sure to make note of your order, as there has been an occasion in the past where the online cart has been acting up. Items from other people's orders may appear in your account, but I assume this problem has now been fully resolved.
Staples is a very good company for mass buying company supplies/ stationery. In bulk, it is a rather cheap retailer but not so much when buying single quantities. As with many bulk retailers, it was quite costly to buy single pens and notepads. However, shipping was quick and hassle-free and customer service was helpful in the process.
